Court orders Rapidshare to take preemptive measures against copyright infringement
I was under the impression that courts are ruled by fact and reason but it becomes apparent that some judges are not able to cope with technology and the fast changing online world. A court order issued on January 23th by the District court of Dusseldorf, Germany ordered Rapidshare to take preemptive measures against copyright infringement. This does look nicely on paper but once you take a look at the practical implementation it is a (nearly) impossible task.

Drop.io great file hoster
I normally do not write about file hoster because most simply offer the same service using a different interface and website address. Drop.io on the other hand is pretty unique because of several features. Users do not have to signup to store (drop) their files at Drop.io and the only limitation is a maximum size of 100 Megabytes per drop.

Rapidshare Down ! Supposed to be up at midnight again
Rapidshare.com the popular file hoster is currently unreachable if you use the url. Rumors began to spread like wildfire claiming that Rapidshare servers were taken down by court order, that the police seized Rapidshare servers which was the reason for the unavailability.

Free File host List June 2006
I know it´s been a while since I published the last file host list. Finally, today, I decided to update the list, remove all dead services and add new services. I personally would like to know if you want me to keep the sites in the list that ask you to register before you can use their services.
