I suppose I’ve saved the world by choosing the right answer, the world didn’t blow up after all… And now seriously :)

We live in an imperfect world full of bugs (and other insects of course) and the cyber-world is no exception to that rule. Fortunately, there are several ways to resolve problems, as long as you have any idea of what caused them to happen. Not all error messages or bug reports are as useless (and funny) as the one I mentioned above. Most of them provide you with at least a brief description of the error and mostly an error number or category as well. But what if you don’t understand the error message? How about asking some other users who could have experienced it or know how to fix it ?

Bug.gd (Beta) is a rather simple service that allows you to search the library of bugs with their solutions and shows a list of reports you might be interested in. You can search for the error number, description or whatever else provided.

Besides that, you can also help other people to resolve some bugs by posting a solution to an unsolved problem. The only thing that is required of you is to provide your e-mail address. Try this service out by typing in a well-known error number like 404 and watch the amount of explanations you get for your problem. It’s not limited to any specific type of bugs / errors.

Optimize and Secure Windows with PC Pal

Operating Systems

Security

Software

Windows

computer

errors

issues

pc issues

pc pal
<guid

The process is very user friendly and requires minimal user interaction. Basically the user pushes one button and PC Pal checks the computer for problems related to security, networking, printing and performance.

A full scan does not take longer than a few minutes and results are displayed in a scrollable list. Each item can be expanded to display detailed information and a button to fix the problem. A fix could be to activate a feature in Windows, like activating the Windows Firewall or the Popup Blocker in Internet Explorer, or a link to third party software or updates to installed softwares.

Issues are divided into critical and normal ones. The three critical issues that were found on my test PC told me to activate the Windows Firewall, install an Anti-Virus software and download the latest Flash player.

<span

This is a great software if you use Internet Explorer and other Microsoft softwares regularly.

I would not suggest to run it as a background process all the time but fire it up once a week or so to check for new critical issues.

Read More:

PC Pal

Funny Error Messages

Entertainment

Funny

error messages

errors
<guid
