RSS Feeds are probably the best way of receiving updates from favorite websites and services. They are however still more of a thing for the technical inclined Internet users and largely ignored by the average users. They do have a few other limitations like only being viewable in applications that support RSS News Feeds.

One option that has become popular in recent months is to create pdf documents out of RSS News Feeds which solves the accessibility problem. Tabbloid is a relatively new Internet service that can turn RSS News Feeds into pdf documents and send those news digest right to the user’s inbox.

This is done by pasting RSS News Feed urls into the form on the main Tabbloid website. The service will check the feed, display a preview of the last news items that have been posted and ask the user to accept or reject it. If the user accepts the feed it gets added to the list of feeds that will be processed.

It is possible to add multiple feeds which would then all be used to fill the pdf document. Options exist to generate the pdf right at the website or set delivery options to receive the pdf document in the inbox. The possible intervals are hourly, daily or weekly.

The created pdf document of the RSS news feeds will look like pretty much like a newspaper. It will not contain images however, only the text and additional information like links. It is therefor easy to load the article on the website directly to post a comment or read it there to see pictures that have been posted.

The pdf documents do not contain advertisement and registration is not required to receive the magazine style RSS News Feeds. The email account has to be verified before the delivery starts.

Receiving and sending emails is becoming increasingly popular on mobile phones. Mobile phones provide an easily accessible way of checking for, reading and sending emails while on the road while other devices that could do the same, laptops for instance, are far more difficulty to use unless you happen to sit in a coffee shop with Internet access. Even netbooks do not provide the same comfort that mobile phones can offer. They do however make up for it by offering a full keyboard which is convenient when writing emails.

Many mobile phones provide access to only one email account. That’s problematic if a user possesses more than one account. It is possible to configure the email accounts to forward all mail to one account which would be the main account on the mobile phone.

An alternative to that is the free mobile email service Momail which provides access to an account that has been specifically designed to work with mobile phones. It basically works by forwarding the mail to the Momail account which would be the primary account on the mobile phone. One advantage of this method is that Momail reduces the size of emails that are send to the mobile phone. A large image attachment would be automatically resized to lower the bandwidth needed to transfer the email.

Another interesting feature is called Push Mails. Mobile Phones that support this feature will automatically notify the user of new incoming mails. Users without such phones have to initiate the check for new mails manually.

Setup is more or less automatic. The user enters his mobile phone number during registration among other things like the mobile phone manufacturer and model. Momail will send a verification email and later on data that will automatically configure the mobile phone for the mobile email service. It usually does not take more than a few minutes to setup the service completely. Some mobile phones require additional configuration which will be mentioned after registration.

Disposable email addresses provide the user with an easy to access temporary email address that they can use to register to services on the Internet without having to think about protecting their main email address from spam. While most Internet services are legit and do not sell the email addresses of their users some do sell them. Once an email address is on a spam list it is close to impossible to prevent spam from arriving in the mail inbox.

Disposable email addresses can be created at a wide variety of services. Yopmail is one of the newer services. The disposable email address service does not require a signup and provides access to any email address in the form @yopmail.com.

A user who wants to signup for a service that requires an email address – maybe for verification – can select any desired username for the yopmail.com domain, for example ghacks@yopmail.com. The email account can then be checked by the user and anyone else who is choosing or guessing the username.

Emails that are listed in the email account can be read and deleted. There is no way of answering an email using the disposable email address service. Mails will stay for a period of five days in the account unless they are deleted in that time by a user.

Yopmail provides a plugin for Internet Explorer, an add-on for Firefox and a widget for Opera which should please the majority of Internet users. Many other disposable email services display the emails as text messages only. Yopmail can switch to HTML emails and display the mail headers as well which is great for analyzing the contents.

Another interesting option is the ability to forward mails to another email account. That comes in handy if the email contains account specific information like usernames, passwords or security questions.
