Toggle Em All is a solution that works in all tested web browsers (which were Firefox 3.x, Opera 9.x and Internet Explorer 8). The bookmarklet should work in most web browsers that have not been tested as well. Here is a short explanation of bookmarklets. They are small pieces of JavaScript code that can be added to the bookmarks of the web browser (or executed right in the address bar). Clicking on the bookmarklet will execute the code on the active website. In the case of the Toggle Em All bookmarklet it would mean that all check boxes would be ticked except for those that are already selected as those would be deselected.

To install it simply go to the Toggle Em All website. You have the option to drag and drop the bookmarklet to the bookmark’s toolbar or to right-click it and select to add the link to the bookmarks / favorites.

Once it has been added it is functional. A click on the new bookmark will reverse all check boxes on the active webpage. Users of the Firefox web browser can also take a look at the Check All add-on which offers better customizability as it allows to select the checkboxes that should be processed (in contrast to all or nothing offered by the bookmarklet).
