What Microsoft did goes one step further as the results look beyond belief even for inexperience users or die hard Internet Explorer fans. To put it plainly: Internet Explorer 8 beats Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome in seven of the ten categories including security, privacy, reliability and ease of use.

Internet Explorer is as good as Google Chrome and Firefox in the last three categories that include performance, customizability or web standards. Each category contains a short comment as to why Internet Explorer outranks or ties the competition. The security comment for example states that “Internet Explorer 8 takes the cake with better phishing and malware protection, as well as protection from emerging threats”.
