The free version is limited but sufficient for everyone who just wants to play around. I think it would especially be a very nice application for kids because they surely will enjoy the ease of use and ways of painting that art rage offers to them.

It is possible to create a wide variety of images. The website hosts a so called gallery forum where artists show off their work and some looks very impressive. They also offer a tutorial about creating the cartoon figure in the left picture. I like it, will show it to my nephew who is four years and I bet he will enjoy playing with it.
