It has a large fan following and some of the shows actually have a pretty well developed storyline. The only downside is that anime is available only a few select television channels.

For anime fans who cannot get a fix of their favorite show on TV, the internet offers hope. Just like TV shows, most anime is also uploaded to online video-sharing sites. It can be quite irksome to search for a single show or episode though. Thankfully, Crawlanime does all the hard work for you.

Crawlanime is an indexing site for anime. The site has a pretty comprehensive list of anime videos all over the internet. The site lists anime in decreasing order of available videos. This means shows with the highest number of videos are displayed first. If you’re looking for something specific though, you can always use the index on the left side of the page.

Clicking on a show opens up a page with all the available episodes. Once you select an episode, a new page opens up, with the links. The initial links all go to Veoh, which are usually the 5-minute previews and require you to have VeohTv to watch them. But if you scroll down, you will come to links from other video-sharing sites, most notably YouTube and Dailymotion.

Crawlanime provides hours of entertainment, especially if you’re into anime. I’d like to see the site have a small stat counter that tells people which are the most viewed videos. That way, new users can check out popular shows and decide if it’s for them.

What do you think of Crawlanime? Do you know of any other anime indexing sites? How do you think the availability of anime online affects broadcasters and TV channels? Let me know in the comments.

Create Your Own Manga Avatar With Face Your Manga

Funny

Online Services

anime

avatar

create avatar

face your mange

facebook avatar

manga

twitter avatar
<guid

That integral part of Japanese culture has long made its way into the West and kids are crazy after manga stuff. Face Your Manga tries to take advantage of the fact by providing its visitors a way to create their own Manga avatars to be used in forums, social bookmarking and community websites.

The process reminds of the Mii creation on the Nintendo Wii. The user picks a gender for his avatar and can then customize various facial features like the hair, eyes and nose. Nintendo Wii users should experience no difficulties creating the avatars and everyone else won’t run into a lot either.

It’s pretty much about picking the right facial feature and color to go along with the avatar. Face, Eyes, Nose, Mouth, Ears and Hairs are the six main parts of the face that can be changed. Most containing subcategories; Eyes are for instance further divided into Shape and Eyebrows.

<span

Want your avatar to wear a tie, a peace logo, tattoo and piercing? No problem. The avatars are send to an email address that has to be entered with some additional data. It’s probably a way of collecting emails and I would advise to use an email account that does not receive private emails for that. It has to be able to receive attachments so most disposable email services are out of the question.

A Comprehensive Site for Manga

Browsing

Cool

Entertainment

The Web

anime

japanese comics

manga

purchase

read online

For those of you who are new to this, manga is basically the Japanese version of a comic book. Why should manga interest you? Well, for one thing, if you enjoy watching anime, you’d know that most anime series are adapted from their manga forms. This includes hits like Naruto and Bleach, amongst others.

The disadvantage of manga is that it’s not available everywhere. So, even if you wanted to buy your favorite manga, you might not be able to. What’s the solution? Simple! You can get your manga fix online, through One Manga.

One Manga is a site that functions as a manga library. There are innumerable high quality scans of manga issues. You can find entire volumes of series as well as obscure single issues that you might not get elsewhere. Besides scans, there are a couple of manga-based games you can play. Plus, there’s a store section as well where you can purchase manga issues you liked reading.

The site offers hours of entertainment, especially if you happen to be a fan of the manga genre. Even if you’re not, I’d still recommend checking the site out. It’s a different style from traditional comic books and the artwork on some of them is stunning. Go take a look and let me know what you think.
