The website that I’m going to introduce is called My HD Wallpapers although that title might be a bit misleading because wallpapers are available in many different sizes on the website.

More than 8000 images are currently hosted on the website offered in different formats and resolutions of up to 2560×1600. The pictures are categorized in albums with the usual assortment of celebrities, cars, landscapes but also abstract images and vector wallpapers.

A click on a category loads either subcategories or the first batch of 15 images that are shown per page. The images are displayed as thumbnails and another click loads the image giving the user the option to download it directly to his computer. A pulldown menu offers different resolutions of the currently selected image.

I did spend nearly an hour on the website and I was able to grab a few nice images for my wallpaper collection.

They have to many ads, some use popups and other means of making a quick buck. Good wallpaper sites are therefor rare and deserve to be mentioned in an article. The over 1000 abstract wallpapers on a single page website offers what its page title suggests, a good way of viewing and downloading some or even all of the wallpapers offered on that page.

Width and height of the images vary between 1280*1024 and 1600*1200, there is however no way to find out about the original image size without clicking on the thumbnail which loads the full sized image.

The page could take some time to load if you are using a low speed connection, all thumbnails on that single page are about 2K which means that you will have to download about 2 megabytes before all thumbnails are displayed.
