A new version of the popular firefox browser has been released today. This version is not available through the update option from within firefox. Make sure you head to the offical firefox site to grab the version from there. You probably want to know what has been changed in this release ?

* Universal Binary support for Mac OS X which provides native support for Macintosh with Intel Core processors. Firefox supports the enhancements to performance introduced by the new MacIntel chipsets.
* Improvements to product stability.
* Several security fixes.

I want a freeware utility to do the following. Did you ever say that to yourself and wondered if a freeware or open source application existed that did exactly what you wanted ? It seems the natural way to sort freeware applications in this way, describe what you want to do and link to a freeware application that does exactly that.

Lots of categories at the econsultant.com website, for example you find a program that lets you manage your iPod without iTunes, that manage wallpapers and one that changes the folder icon. More than 300 I want to utilities in the list. As far as I can see really good reliable ones as well, for example many tools from sysinternals. Worth a visit if you are looking for a program that does a special task or want to test new freeware utilities.

Notepad++ is a free source code editor (and Notepad replacement) for Microsoft Windows personal computers. The freeware application supports many programming languages like C, C++, Java, C#, XML, HTML, PHP and Javascript. It has many useful features that Notepad is lacking, some worth mentioning are auto completion, the ability to work with more than one document and a multi-view feature that shows two documents at the same time. (that you can edit of course).

A lot of my visitors already have a google gmail account or are asking me for an invitation. I thought it would be nice to share a great site that features lots of gmail tips with you. The site gmail tips the complete collection gives a rough introduction to the google mail service and lists more than 40 tips afterwards. For example tip 27 explains to you how you would add a hotmail email to gmail, tip 11 tells you how to connect securely to gmail.

Every tip is worth a quick glance at least, you learn a lot about the gmail service that you did not knew before. Great tip on advanced search features, contacts and attachements.

If you ever wondered how those hackers perform their “hacks” you might have missed the crimemachine website.

The tutorial section of the site offers seven flash tutorials on diverse topics such as cracking wpa and wep networks and exploiting weaknesses of PPTP VPN. All tutorials vary in size between 5 and 50 megabytes, make sure you have a broadband connection or lots of time.

Flash is needed of course but who does not have flash installed these days ?
