Every know and then I accidentally delete files and later find out that I still need them. I configured my trashcan to hold no files at all, means files that I delete are gone by normal means and can´t be recovered that easily.
If you are like me, a program like Data Recovery might come in handy. The tool works on Fat 16, 32 and NTFS file systems, is of course free to use and can be run from an usb stick or floppy drive.

Netstat is a free little tool that comes with a windows operating system and that is also available for Linux and Unix. Netstat shows all open ports on your machine.
You run it by opening your command prompt and typing netstat. Its highly customizable using switches like netstat -a. Its mainly used to get a quick overview on whats happening on your system connection wise.
