I’m in the mood for some funny pictures and thought that it could be nice to create a series of threads every Sunday from now on. If you like the idea to read a post with links to funnny videos, pictures and audio files let me know.

Three sites with a post about funny pictures made it on the frontpage of Digg today and two of them were not able to cope with the load that was caused by thousand of geeks that clicked on the link to that sites simultaneously. I therefor decided to post all pictures here on my site as a mirror so to speak and add a link to the original sites as well so they get the backlink that they deserve.

This means however that the loading times could be rather long because both post contained a lot of pictures. It is still worth the waiting time, hope you enjoy the pictures:

Did you ever come upon a video which seemed to tell an unbelievable story but still made you almost believe that it was true ? I experienced this when I was watching the video entitled Fear of Girls showing two roleplaying fanatics talking about their life presenting some footage of their gaming sessions and showing them during an interview. What can I say, geeks like this do exist and this video is really well done.

The prayer when he is eating with his brother and sister in law is really awesome, hehe. One of the gamers is wearing his druid costume and while his brother is praying he is praying as well to the earth god. Well, enjoy the video and have a good laugh - or two..

You might have heard that the AACS is sending Cease and Desist letters to websites who link to a forum thread at the Doom9 forum which has information about the processing key for HD-DVD movies. Instead of focusing on the free speech issues that arise in this matter I would like to point out to something interesting. This number made many users creative and I decided to publish all the interesting creative works that point to that number.

I don’t want to talk about the obvious ones here which are: registered domain names, t-shirts, mugs and other merchandise with the number or e-mail addresses with it. I link to several images at the end which are worth a look as well.

Sometimes pictures say more than a thousand words. This is actually the first picdump ever here at ghacks, consider it a little experiment that tests the water to see if you like it or not. I know it is not really related to anything here other than that I would say that geeks like us do love funny pictures. It is part of our culture, don’t you think ? Youtube Sunday it seems. We all know that Youtube likes to cooperate with everyone who looks a bit like authority and takes down videos pretty fast. It does not always have to be copyright infringement, it can also be original works of art that some authorities like the Turkish or Thai government want removed from Youtube pressuring the site with a countrywide ban. (man I love the Turkish interpretation of Democracy and free speech)

It is apparently even easier. A 15 year old Australian boy send a fake takedown notice to Youtube pretending to be a representative of the Australian Broadcast Company. He requested the takedown of hundreds of videos from a popular comedy show. Guess what ? Youtube reacted immediately and removed the videos and even send a message to the users who uploaded the videos threatening them with a ban if they would continue to upload copyrighted videos.
