Agnitum, the company that is developing the security software Outpost, recently ran a promotion where users could “swap” their existing commercial antivirus solution against Outpost’s Internet Security Suite free of charge. We have covered that promotion in detail, mainly because it was a unique marketing idea that we did not see before on the Internet.
Windows users who do not run a commercial security solution have now the option to win a copy of Outpost Internet Security Suite 7.5 here at Ghacks. Agnitum was nice enough to give us 20 1-year licenses for the giveaway.
Outpost Security Suite is Agnitum’s top of the line product. It is comparable to other Internet security suites feature wise. The program comes with all the security modules one would expect including antivirus and antispyware, a personal firewall, advanced monitoring tools that monitor system processes, files and the Windows Registry, as well as pro-active protection tools.

Outpost uses multi-layered protections that range from contact prevention over infection and resident prevention to data leak prevention. Each security module of the suite is part of at least one layout. The firewall for instance is part of the contact prevention module which the anti leak and application guard modules prevent the leaking of data and are therefor part of the data leak prevention layer.
The program ships with several modules that make it less intrusive. The entertainment mode for instance guarantees uninterrupted gaming and working with full screen applications while auto learning that the program will make decisions based on a user’s past decisions.
Other new features include clipboard and screen content protection, USB virus protection and improved performance over previous versions of the security program.
Outpost Internet Security Suite 7.5 is compatible with all recent 32-bit and 64-bit editions of the Windows operating system.
You can win a copy by leaving a comment about your current security setup below. Interested users can download a trial version of the software for their operating system and language from the Agnitum website.
Update: The winners of the licenses are: bennyjh, Bero, Dexter86, Ahmad, miftah, phase, EuroScept1C, Mike Daniel, Pawel, myimmortalize, Katja K, Johan Gustavsson, Dan, Corno, sizxb, RMR, Sujay, Maestro, Nathan, akert

Online Armour and Emsisoft. The good thing of OA is that it gives you the possibility to manually add Websites that are allowed, trusted, or have to be blocked. The same helds for programs. I have installed a trial version of Outpost, which has a very good reputation, but I am missing some of the possibilities found in OA. The good thing is that unlike OA, OutpostFW does not block EVERYTHING automatically until it is told to allow it. If giveaway version is 7.5.1 you can count me in for this one.
I was using comodo , but recently I removed it due to frequent freezing of PC. I would love to try this product

Avast home ed an MS firewall
I’m currently using OSS FREE 7.1 [Firewall / Proactive Protection enabled only] and Avast FREE.
Other security applications: SandboxIE, Returnil
Browser Add-ons: NoScript and WOT
Why I would like to win a license for OSS PRO?
Compared to OSS FREE, the latest PRO version has additional features which would be essential in providing additional security:
Firewall
Attack Detection: you can specify attacks to block, specific ports you want monitored closely [including port weighing], ARP cache and various Ethernet/Wi-Fi attack settings.
IP Blocklist: allows you to restrict Internet traffic to and from hosts or networks that are considered malicious. All packets from these hosts will be dropped and could additionally be logged.
Proactive Protection
Anti Leak: key logging has been improved and additional screen logging protection has been added
System Guard: ability to customise the settings for protecting critical system objects [it's just an ON/OFF switch in 7.1 FREE]
File and Folder Lock
Removable Media Protection
Other
Agnitum also introduced improved prompts in 7.5, with more detailed information about the parent process of the action in question. Also, the prompts now have a different colored header, based on the actions’ severity.
Another usability improvement is the ability to remove non-existying entries in the Application Rules [Purge in Settings-> Application Rules] in 7.5, a welcome addition, because you had to perform this task manually before.
Thank you for the opportunity and good luck to all participating!
I use Avira. This is really an excellent software. The best program for PC security! Thanks for the chance to win!
Hi , I use MS antivirus because is free ,quite good, and don’t eat a lot of CPU.
The comodo is a very good product. I used it some time but was some “panic mode” .But I think that is better than Ms ,that I use . …,The choice of Avira is good too ,I know many people that are happy with it.
