SoundCloud users and visitors can only download some of the music offered at the popular audio hosting service. Just enter a song name or part of a name in the search form on the main SoundCloud page to get a list of results that match the query. All songs can be played right away on site, but only some can be downloaded which is indicated by the Download link in the song header. The uploader of the song makes the decision to offer song downloads during the uploading process. Downloads are only available automatically if the Downloads enabled option has been activated by the original uploader.
The userscript Soundcloud Super adds options to download all songs from SoundCloud on every page of the music hosting service. The userscript adds a “Use right click save as to download” link to every song header on SoundCloud which links directly to the mp3 file on the SoundCloud server. A right-click on the file and the selection of Save Link or Save As opens the browser’s save as dialog window to save the song to the local hard drive.
The download link is displayed on every page, both for visitors of the service and logged in users.
Soundcloud Super has a second feature, SoundCloud recommendations which taps into Easyrec’s recommendation engine to display song recommendations for the songs that you are playing or looking at over at SoundCloud.
The userscript works right out of the box under Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. Chrome users can simply install the userscript and start using it right away, Firefox users need the Greasemonkey add-on or a comparable add-on like Scriptish before they can install the userscript in the browser.

Users who prefer desktop applications can take a closer look at SoundCloud Downloader for Windows, Mac and Linux (with emulation) which is a free desktop application that can download multiple songs at once from SoundCloud.
You need to paste a SoundCloud url into the form under (1) and click on load afterwards. The application scans the page for songs and display every song found under (2). Check the songs that you want to download and specify a download directory under (3) before you click on the download button to download all selected songs. (via Caschy)

As Soundcloud is in large part used by indie musicians to put up their own music, and not a sendspace service for random mp3s, that’s how it should stay. And yes I know it’s always been possible to circumvent, but this is on another level. I sincerely hope the SC staff will try to do something about this.
It doesn’t look like it is an easy fix; the exploit is quite simple and looks like any minor changes made by SC can be easily be circumvented. Yet another problem with those trying to monetize their hard work – you can’t go with upstarts without risk.
I agree, it will probably be very difficult to fix (and it’s always been there, just not this easy). I guess it’s back to either pull everything off of there, or go back to the old LQ trick. I sometimes wish sites like GH (that has a huge user base) wouldn’t post about these hacks though, but it is what it is.
Works perfectly with Opera too. Tested with Opera 11.01. Most probably work with earlier versions too.
