Ghacks February 2011 Best Of

What happened in February 2011 on Ghacks? The month started with Google accusing Bing of stealing, or copying, their search result rankings which many saw as an below the belt shot.

A patent application by Microsoft a few days later revealed the Direct Experience Mode which is rumored to be added to Windows 8, Microsoft’s upcoming operating system. It basically uses multiple specialized virtual operation systems that can be loaded before the full operating system.

Mozilla then dropped a bomb by updating the Firefox 2011 Roadmap. The developers plan to release a new Firefox version every three months which means that Firefox 7 could be released at the end of the year.

While we are at it, Firefox 4 Beta 12 was released, as well as Internet Explorer 9 RC. Opera Software revealed a first snapshot of the upcoming Opera 11.10 Barracuda.

Microsoft released the Windows 7 Service Pack 1, and we posted the three guides Windows 7 SP1, All You Need To Know, And Do, How To Uninstall Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and how to Remove Windows 7 SP1 Backups To Free Up Disk Space.
