Windows users who want to find out about the reason for a software or application crash need to open the Event Viewer, navigate their way through the program to find out what Windows has recorded related to the crash. That’s complicated for users who are not that tech-savvy. An alternative for them and everyone else who just wants to look at the recent app crashes on the PC is the portable software AppCrashView by Nirsoft.
The software is compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7 only, which limits the reach of the program a bit. The tool extracts crash information from Windows Error Reporting files that are created every time an application crashes in the system.

AppCrashView displays information about each software crash, including the process file that crashed, the event name, event time, logged in user, exception code and other relevant information.
Basically, it displays all information that Windows has stored about the crash making it a lot easier to analyse the reason for the crash. The program offers exporting options into various formats including HTML, txt and XML which means that they can be send to the application developer to aid with the analysis of the crash.
AppCrashView is available for download directly at the Nirsoft website.
