Sexy Undo Close Tab For Google Chrome

If you want to reopen a recently closed tab in the Google Chrome browser you have got the choice to right-click the tabbar and select reopen closed tab from the menu to do so or to open the Google Chrome history to find the web page in there. Both options have their disadvantages. The right-click works well if the page to be reopened has been the last closed tab but less if other pages have been closed in between.

Opening the history in the Google browser on the other hand adds clicks to the process and some searching to find the entry in the history.

Sexy Undo Close Tab is probably the best solution for most Chrome users.

The Chrome extension adds an icon to the Chrome address bar that displays the recently opened tabs in a pulldown window.

Each page is listed with its favicon, page title and time it has been closed making identification of the page that should be reopened fairly easy.

A click on any entry in the menu will reopen the closed tab in the web browser.

The options of the Chrome extension hold configurations to set the number of closed tabs to be displayed in the extension’s window, change other interface elements like bolding the font or hiding the clear button and enabling a shortcut.

The clear button will remove all entries from the closed tabs menu but not the entries from the history. Sexy Undo Close Tab can remember closed tabs across sessions. The developer has defined this as experimental as it can have a negative impact on the browser’s performance in the long run.

The Google Chrome extension can be downloaded from the official Chrome extensions repository.

Update: The extension has been removed by its author from the Chrome Web Store. Chrome users can download Sexy History Viewer Lite instead as an alternative.
