favicon cleaning in Opera rocks. It is not included in Opera’s own cache cleaning and can easily get up to multiply thousands of files. This CCleaner build brought it form 13k files to 3k on my home system.
And they say “improved” but I don’t noticed this feature to work at all in previous versions. :)
Nice information Rarst ;) You do not have by chance downloaded Soluto http://www.soluto.com/Download/ and could upload it to a file hosting site?
Nope… you know I rarely jump on latest and hype-est. :)
My own experience shows that CCleaner causes more trouble than it solves. It feels to me the same thing as the registry cleaners, programatically clearing these settings shouldn’t be done by the unwashed computer masses because when something goes wrong they have no idea how to fix it.
Also irony ought to be defined as a ‘cleaner’ program that then tries to install a search bar.
@Gulo
Registry cleaning in CCleaner is very shallow. The only way for it to break something is if registry is already damaged beyond recognition.
Search bars suck, but developers need to make a living after all. However in this case it is kinda easy to make few more clicks and get portable build without bar.
My own experience as tech support has shown me that ccleaner almost certainly contributes to the problems on a machine. So if it works for you, great. But I would never install this piece of .. software .. on my computer, and it would be the first thing removed from a computer were I troubleshooting it.
We recommend that you use only the best Registry Cleaners to fix your computers registry. Doing this will help you fix many errors that your computer may have and will help you improve your computers overall performance!For more visit:http://www.repairregistrycleaners.com/
