PicPick Screen Capture Software

A screen capture software aids the user in capturing parts or the entire computer screen. A lot of users actually need to do this on a regular basis from webmasters to journalists or students. Microsoft has recently begun to ship their operating system with a so called snipping tool which can be used to capture part of the computer screen. Third party screen capture software programs like MWSnap, SnagIt or PicPick on the other hand offer more flexibility and functionality making them a good choice for users who need more than just that basic functionality.

PicPick is available as a portable version and an installer. The capture software places its icon in the Windows task bar after startup. The user can then make use of the functionality by clicking on that icon or by using one of the freely configurable hotkeys to do so. The screen capturing options include full screen captures (with multi-monitor support), active windows captures, window controlled, fixed region and free hand captures.

The screen capture is then displayed in the program’s interface which offers basic image editing features that include crop, resize and rotate options, basic image editing tools like adding text, basic geometric shapes, a color picker and magnifier.

The memory consumption is lower than 10 Megabytes of computer memory which is acceptable for such a program. The screen capture capabilities combined with the imaged editor make PicPick a potent screen capturing program. The program can be downloaded from the developer’s website.

Shame on you. You copy idea from others. At least, you should give a link to labnol.org

I copy ideas? Interesting. According to your logic Labnol must have stolen the “idea” from winaddons which posted about PicPick on November 17 or from Ajuaonline which posted about the tool on November 16. Google lists more than 25K blogs that wrote about PicPick. Did you go to every website and tell them they stole the “idea” from someone else?

Hey, I posted in August. ;) Really… attribution is good but there is clear line between original posts with solid research that are worth such attribution and common knowledge flying around.

By the way for the last few versions I couldn’t access app’s site from home, had to use proxy. Have no idea why it block me like this and wonder if someone experienced same.
