http://www.kde-apps.org/CONTENT/content-files/84745-KPackageKit-0.5.1.1.7z
you will need to have installed:
PackageKit >= 0.5.4
KdeLibs headers of Kde4
KDE >= 4.3
p7zip-full (to uncompress the package)
Compiling:
7z e FILENAME.7z
cd KPackageKit-RELEASE_NUMBER
mkdir build && cd build
cmake .. -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr/
make
su
make install
that should do it for you.

@lefty.crupps: I am running Ubuntu 9.10. a) installing (single/multiple
b) upgrading
c) searching
and
d) resolve dependencies too!
The only problem is that it's available only on SuSE/OpenSuSE.
Anyway, when I was Slackwaring I usually find very easy to:
search google
download
compile
But it's not for the newbie.
Best regards.

Sorry to say folk, but it seems to me that yast is the perfect tool for<br
