I had the slow down in 3.5.4 to. Removes 3 plugins and the problem was gone. I removes Sage, Power Twitter and …..an other Firebug.

FF starts up fast now and accessto pages is faster the shutdown of ff is also faster now.

I guess everthing has to do with the plug ins. I didn’t need them any more so I could remove them.

I too am having memory problems with Firefox 3.5.4 on Mac OSX. Its responsiveness slows down drastically. When I quit and restart, it has low memory footprint and is responsive again. I’m using Firebug too. Looks like a classic memory leak to me.

The easiest way to find that out would be to create a new profile and run Firefox using that profile. If it still shows the behavior its the browser itself, if not it could be one of the add-ons or something else, maybe even a corrupted database.

I get the same behavior. Mem usage is task manager goes upto 1GB and CPU to 40%.
I wonder if it is firefox or one of the buggy plugins/addons I have.

I have just upgraded to 3.0.15 and fireftp no longer works so I am having to use DOS ftp which thankfully still works.

hi,
i’m using firefox 3.5.4
and i’m experiencing high memory consumption and slightly lag in later time..
even though i close the firefox…
it’s still appears in Task Manager process list with memory usage approx 400k..
i need to ‘kill’ the firefox.exe process in order to completely close the app..

just wonder..is this version havin prob with memory leak or is it just me? :p
