January 26, 2011 – Facebook recently announced a new security related option in the user’s account settings that can be used to enable HTTPS on the whole site. HTTPS, a secure encrypted connection between the local computer and the Facebook website, ensures that no one in the same computer network can listen to that traffic. Facebook users need to open their Account Settings page where they can check the Secure Browsing checkbox to enable HTTPS for the account.
October 12, 2010 – Facebook has launched two new security features. First, the social networking site has launched one time passwords that can be used to log into Facebook with passwords that are only valid for one time. It works by configuring a mobile phone number in the Facebook account settings and then sending otp to 32665 on your mobile phone if you are in the US. Facebook will reply with a one-time password for the login.
The second addition is the ability to log out remotely. If you have forgotten to log out of Facebook you can do that now even if you are not near the device you logged in with. This is handled under Account Security section of your Account Settings page.

February 14, 2012 – You can harden your Facebook account under Security Settings. Here is a quick rundown of what’s available there:
- Security Question – This helps Facebook identify you when you try to contact the support for instance.
- Secure Browsing – Here you can enable https for all connections where the feature is available.
- Login notifications – Receive emails whenever someone logs into your Facebook account.
- Login Approvals – This enables two factor authentication on Facebook. You basically get a code send to your mobile phone whenever someone tries to log in from an unrecognized device.
- App Passwords – This are helpful if you have enabled Facebook login approvals. Some apps do not support the feature and you create special passwords for them here to use them.
- Recognized devices – Displays a list of devices that have connected to Facebook recently.
- Active Sessions – All Facebook sessions that are active.

FB not working again don’t know if my messages are being sent or not hate to send them again don’t want to look like an idiot!!!!
2 solutions:
1. Check that the time and date on your computer clock are correct. If they are out of sync with real life, many things will not work correctly, like logging in.
2. Clear your browser cache and cookies. If you do not know how to do this, google it for the browser you have (like IE, Mozilla, etc).
Anything else is either a compromised account, bad login credentials, a virus, or a more serious issue.
I was not able to login to facebook for one week.. I tried different solutions… Finally it works: I added “s” to http. Simple.. it worked.

SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE. OK, I have a very long, confuseing problem,so if anyone can understand any of this and help me I would be VERY thankful. I have not been able to log in to Facebook for about 3 months now. I tried to login one day and it said email doesn’t match, I thought that was weird because the day before I signed in no problem. So then I tried to change my password and I got a message that my email was invalid. So of corse I was shocked and confused because this was the only email that I had ever had. I wrote the help center and told them my problem and they replied and said that they did not have any account that matched my email………………So then I was REALLY confused. I told them that was impossible because it is the only email that I have ever had and that I also have my FB account set up to send a message to that same email address everytime someone writes on my wall or sends me a message, so how can they not find my address? I have sent at least 3 meassages to the help center and at this point I think that they are just ignoring me, or do not believe me??? Everyone can see my FB page except for me and that is crazy. My friends are writing to me everyday and I have at least 100 messages to reply to, I know this only because I see them when I check my email. I guess I am about to accept that there is no fix to my problem, or if there is no one at the FB help center is going to take the time to figure it out and tell me. I just got a new computer so I am going to try to start over. I will 1st have to copy all of my friends which is around 300 and ask for them to be my friend again (that will be very time consuming) and then I will have to recopy every picture and do the whole dang thing over. So if all of that was not enough I do still have another problem……………After I make my new account how do I delete the old one????? Any one have an answer for that???? I don’t like the new format on Facebook. It loses some friends and doesn’t count them right. I am really disgusted with the whole thing. It used to be so much fun and the networking was great, now I wonder where it is going???Maybe we should all get together and get a new networking site to meet our friends and get acquainted with new ones!!
