Well, the tab button still passes over it in Firefox! Try it: put the cursor in the textarea and press tab.

Instead of manually disabling Add-ons in IE 8 you can also run IE 8 in “No Add-ons” mode by going to the Start Menu then All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). I have had the same problem with IE8 and I am not sure it is due to an add-on (i have not added any customized add-on’s to IE8.

If you do a Google search on:
IE8 connecting

You will see that there are many, many people with the same problem.

Someone said this would fix the problem:

Run a Command Prompt as Administrator and type
regsvr32 actxprxy.dll

But it didn’t help me.

Put the “notify me” in the right TAB-order, just after the comment text field and before “submit comment” button and it would really make sense.

By the way, Martin, is there any chance of putting the “Notify me of followup comments” checkbox above the “Submit Comment” button. It is frustrating for keyboard users to tab down to the checkbox then tab back up to the submit button.

This is a great idea. It is well known that may extensions will slow down the performance of any software, and this is a responsible step on behalf of Microsoft to include such a tool in IE. I even went and requested such a tool for inclusion in Firefox:

If you would like to see this tool in Firefox as well, then please comment on that bug.
