I was merely stating the fact that there were several bug reports about this new version in the Opera forum with the intention to tell everyone to be careful when installing the beta release. Everything else is your interpretation.

Users are always complaining. Of course a forum where people are supposed to report bugs will contain bug reports! It's crazy to write about it as if this beta is extraordinarily buggy or something, because it isn't.

Even final versions of software contains bugs. ALL software, including Firefox, Safari, etc.

WHAT THE DUCK ???

Is there a battle started on the basis of a brief article updating Opera development? I wanna join in!

The general type of sentence that is being complained about here may have not been the most fortunate choice for the article but this is not supposed to be an elaborate piece of art, just another article updating the tech-blog scene with fresh news. I myself believe Opera's better than any other browser out there but if Martin saw somne bug reports, then they most likely were there. Which is not in the least an unusual event to happen with BETA version apps.

About blogging generally, information is always partially biased by the personal beliefs of the teller/writer but IMHO bloggers are in many cases taken more seriously than all the corrupt and profit-seeking biased corporate media out there.

Opera 10 Beta might be still a lil bit buggy, alright. But it's still the ultimate FTW choice for the future!

Most useless comment. Ever. Extremely poor "journalism". No wonder bloggers aren't being taken seriously.

Well, if users do complain, it could mean they're just lame. Nevertheless, one shouldn't just ignore such complaints and replace their nicely working stable version with a buggy pre-release. It's a good idea to study the issues into depth or use a virtualization / separate install instead. I'm as always going to wait for the final RC version but it's always nice to pick up some crumbs about how the development is moving on. Keen on finally trying out the new Unite feature, WOOT!

What makes you think it was a quality analysis? I was merely stating the fact that users reported problems with the newest version which should prepare users that this could happen on their systems as well if they make the decision to download and install it. You should not be so defensive, you know :)

"Many users in the Opera forum are reporting problems with the new beta release."

Oh really! Could you show some of these reports? I haven't seen a SINGLE new problem with the beta. In fact, it's far more stable than the latest FINAL Firefox version (3.5)!

Some users will always report problems. Using a support forum as the basis of a quality analysis is just insane.

Olli you are right, I have taken that from the Desktop Team blog. I thought it to be a bit strange as well for a beta.

"The developers are actually warning users stating that it “may have severe known issues, including crashes and data loss situations”.

<-- This is not correct. I guess you are quoting the desktop-team blog post which is about the snapshot not the beta..
This is a common warning for snapshots..
