The Mozilla Weave development team has released version 0.4 of the Firefox add-on that allows users to synchronize data across multiple web browsers. It is basically a storage for user data on the Internet so that Firefox users can access the same bookmarks, passwords, preferences, browsing history and tabs on different computers and mobile devices.
Mozilla Weave is currently an experimental add-on that is only working with versions of Firefox 3.5 which limits the reach of the add-on quite a bit. The data transfer is encrypted which ensures data integrity and safety during the transfer and on the storage server.

Several new features have been added to Mozilla Weave 0.4 including the ability to synchronize preferences, identity support that includes automatic logins and the use of OpenID logins, better support for add-ons using Weave, performance improvements during startup and opening new windows and support for the Fennec which is also known as the mobile Firefox browser.
You can check out our first review of Mozilla Weave dating back to 2008 if you would like to receive additional information. The announcement page contains additional information and the download link to Mozilla Weave 0.4.

[...] Firefox 3.5: Weave, Mozilla’s add-on to synchronize bookmarks, passwords, and now preferences and automatic logins across Firefox browsers, updated to a 0.4 beta, just in time for the release of 3.5—which could happen tomorrow, by the way. We’ve previously covered Weave’s major release, albeit still as an experimental product, and found ourselves intrigued at its plans to provide automatic web site logins. This release includes those automatic logins and OpenID support, for sites that support it, and can sync your browser preferences across systems, giving it a leg up on cross-browser solutions like Xmarks. This version of Weave also works with the Fennec mobile browser 1.0 beta 2, just released for (touchscreen) Windows Mobile and Maemo devices. What’s that about Firefox 3.5’s official release? The developers told Betanews Friday night that, assuming no more show-stopping bugs are reported, Firefox 3.5 could be pushed out as an official release “as soon as Tuesday, June 30.” No indicator which time zone’s Tuesday that refers to, but it’s nice to hear even the softest of target dates. [...] The anticipated Firefox 3.5 is on course for Tuesday release. In addition to new enhancements, Mozilla also released its add-on, Weave, allowing Firefox users to synchronize bookmarks, passwords, and now preferences and automatic logins across systems. Weave essentially is a framework that let you export your Firefox environment to the cloud, so from any computer with Firefox running, you can feel at home. Future versions will add support synchronizing the user’s extensions, themes, and search plug-ins. The latest Weave Beta will also work with the new Fennec mobile running on Windows Mobile and Maemo devices. [Source Mozilla Labs via gHacks] [...]

So this is bit better than Xmarks, right? If I understood correctly..
Good…!!!
Just installed and used weave and it made a mess of my bookmarks. It didn’t syn the folder structure and bookmark positions properly and while I was trying to fix that on one computer the other computer started duplicating its entries. Total waste of my time.
