It has been a while since we last covered free downloads of commercial software programs. This time it is a collection of software programs from Paragon Software. The programs are so called special editions which have a few limitations. Among them a limitation for private usage only, no upgrade possibilities to newer versions and no official support from the developers. The functionality on the other hand is usually close to the commercial version or even exactly the same.
The following software programs are available as special editions:
- Paragon Total Defrag 2009 Special Edition
- Paragon Rescue Kit 9.0 Express
- Paragon Partition Manager 9.0 Special Edition
- Paragon Drive Copy 9 Special Edition
- Paragon Drive Backup 9.0 Personal
- Paragon Hard Disk Manager 8.5 Special Edition
Just follow the links. They lead to registration websites that ask the visitor to enter a few basic information including the name, email and country. Paragon will send an email to the email account containing the product key and serial number needed to activate the software program on a local computer system. The very same email contains a link to the user profile page at the Paragon website from where the software program can be downloaded.
Update:
Download links for programs that are not listed under My Downloads in the Paragon profile.
Drive Backup 9.0
Partition Manager 9.0
Drive Copy 9
Hard Disk Manager 8.5

I’ve wanted to lay my hands on the partition manager for so long! Vista has partition shrinking so I guess I don’t need it all that much now.
I’ve heard all sorts of good stuff about Paragon, is there any benefit to defragging with their software as opposed to the built in one in Windows or free apps like defraggler?
I am the first !haha.
OK, now what? I registered the products at the above link, received the registration email, logged into my account, can see my ‘registered products,’ but ‘My Downloads’ is empty! HTF am I supposed to download the apps???
please subscribe
Same here ‘LazLong’:
I registered for all Apps, but only got 2 download links under ‘My Downloads’:
Paragon Rescue Kit 9.0 Express and
Paragon Total Defrag 2009 Special Edition.
So where are the other links?
ghacks please answer!
I have updated the article with links to the missing downloads.
Thanks for the Update! ;-)
There is still a little mistake in the article update.
Drive Backup is linked two times, but Drive Copy is missing.
And Hard Disk Manager is linking to the registration page again.
fixed
Hoi Martin thanks again a nice page to load the manuals is:
http://www.paragon-software.com/downloads/manual.html
I haven’t heared of paragon before., but I am sure I can use the partition manager ;-P
But is total defrag any better than smart defrag from iobit?
Their defrag software does not seem to be in that high regards if you look around.
Hi Martin!
I’m a fan of Paragon backup and partition software. But I’ve had big problems with their defragger and I was not the only one.
Just want to tell you most of these Paragon promotions can be found in more detailed articles on http://for-free-on-internet.com/
There is a nice 4 Free community and people share informations about free promotions like the ones in your article.
But maybe you know that site since they talk everytime about Ghacks and you have been among the “praised blogs” from the very beginning.
Great post , thanks!
Bryan
Bryan very nice site. Have not heard about it before ;)
I registered for all of the downloads but am only given two download links on their page….lame
No downloads found for half this software, and what links are found don’t work or fail.
Free is nice – when links work and downloads are efficient – but this is too much like hard work.
Thanks anyway.
I have installed the partition manager and the hard disk manager, but as I see you don’t need the partition manager if you already have the hard disk manager, so that one will be removed again.
Thanks for this post :)
The offer seems to be gone… any ideas on where to get the
Paragon Hard Disk Manager 8.5 Special Edition?
Or has anyone got the MD5 so that I can verify if I stumble accidentally across a copy of the file?!
