		<description>if the image to be ocr is on your screen...why not just save it as txt or html.
more often than not if you see it on the screen it can be saved digitally.</description>

but i&#039;m always pleased with how well the OneNote capture/OCR function works. it&#039;s great for grabbing text where people try to make it hard to do, like Yahoo! Lyrics :)

anyway if you have OneNote, and its helper process is running, hit WIN-S to capture a region. it&#039;s posted into a new note. right-click, choose &quot;copy text from picture&quot;, then paste where you need it.</description>

		<description>I&#039;ve tried this one for some simple captcha recognition (nothing nefarious, just saving my fingers) and results were very unstable.

OCR is one of areas were complex payware solution excel, task is bit too complex and requires bit too much research for quality freebie software to appear.</description>
