I hade tried lots of renamers. I finally found a perl script called “cmv”

It is the best yet.
Simple. It uses perl regex and it works transparently using mv -i.

I’ve also used ReNamer for a couple of years. I don’t need it very often and usually not for real complicated tasks but it’s a great program when it is needed. I like it so much that I donated to the author, something I do only in a relatively few cases of excellent freeware.

I’ve used Renamer for quite a while, and I like it. For someone who needs a batch renamer, it deserves a looksee.

Another batch renamer I like is Rename Master.
