Yes, "but", because the tool was totally useless for me. It happened that a service was the cause of the slowness. The whole story was that after I tried a specific software that allows to map a drive for an ftp server, the startup was much slower. and that was an important service that was doing that. obviously, it was something related to the network, but I could never find what. Despite what MS says "XP users DO NOT NEED THIS " .. I have found it helps a bit .. granted it's not "OMG !.. BOOT IS 300% FASTER NOW!"... but after "optimizing bootup" in BootVis, I did notice a reasonable speedup in startup timing. you can probably (if you know what to look for and exactly how to tweak it) do that with BootVis ..
