The end of the year is near and it is time to thank each and everyone of you for their visit here at Ghacks. The last year was eventful and the first year where I lived solely from the earnings of this website. It was not an easy decision but it turned out to be the best in my life. I enjoy writing articles, enjoy helping users who ask me for help and communicate with those who leave comments and enjoy being my own boss ;)
I would especially like to say thanks to the writers here at Ghacks who contribute to the success with their articles. They add to the diversity of articles here at Ghacks. The addition of Jack who is writing regularly about Linux is another step in the right direction and we will continue with all writers into 2009.
All new year resolutions related to Ghacks came true. I managed to raise the RSS subscriber count to more than 10000, finally got more than 1 million unique visitors per month and made some great progress earning wise. Goals motivate and although I would be be happy to stay on this level throughout the year I want to raise the bar and set a motivating goal this time.
I’d like to raise the RSS subscribers count to 20000 subscribers. I’d also like to raise the unique visitors per month from 1 million to 2 million. That’s a pretty tough goal but it motivates me enough to keep going.
My last wish is that you will continue to post comments on my blog and that you will continue to tell your friends, coworkers and relatives about my site. I hope you will continue to enjoy coming to my website as much as you enjoyed it in 2008.
Have a nice, rewarding and peaceful 2009.

Ghacks wishes everyone a happy new year
Yay! Glad ghacks was such a success and I am proud to be contributing to he RSS feed factor :)
yay! soon to be 2009
All the best to everyone at gHacks! Hope you all have a great new year.
2008 was (is) a great year here at Ghacks.
I have really enjoyed your articles and have had a lot of advantages by reading about new tips and software at Ghacks.
So keep up the great work to get your 20000 subscribers.
And of course, thanks for the great presents at the Ghacks Christmas Giveaways. I have to make a documentation from Drupal for one of my clients so taking the many screenshots with WinSnap will be a very big time saver.
Happy 2009!
Happy New Year Martin, long live GHacks, Happy New Year to all!
GHacks.net is one of my favorite tech blogs (sometimes more than specifically tech, with social and/or philosophical issues, which I always greatly appreciate); you are, dear Martin, prolific as I had already mentioned, in the best meaning of the word : accurate and interesting topics and comments as a fact.
A Very happy 2009 to all!
And thank you to Martin for being a great guy to work with :) (and for the awesome gHacks T-shirt he sent me)
Thanks for the opportunity to write for gHacks and the flexibility you had :)
I look forward to helping you reach the 2 million mark :)
Happy New Year to all the great readers and commenters!
have been a ghacker for only 4 months but I must say that I really love your site.. :)
Happy New Year!
I spend it reading, visiting and commenting Ghacks on the regular basis, and it added a lot to my experience and pleasure.
Thanks all here, and lets fulfill Martin’s wish :)
Happy New Year to you, Martin, and to your compatriots. gHacks is a very good, informative, and enjoyable product. Hope 2009 is good to you. :-)
Happy New Year!!!!
gHacks rocks!!!
“I enjoy writing articles, enjoy helping users who ask me for help ”
I wanted help about my site; Help for Linux
Well and good tips to increase the popularity?
I have a google pagerank of 4 already? Within 6 months!
How can I get more visitors?
I need help with Digg coz power users on’t digg my articles?
As strange as it may sound, this site changed my day to day life. Before finding gHacks, I really only used my Internet Explorer to check my eMail, any software I had came from the ghetto of uTorrent and usually sent my AVG into fits with trojans, viruses and all kinds of other CTDs. Cyber Transmitted Diseases.
Then I came across this site. Now, I dont even remember how or why but I am eternally grateful for that twist of fate.
Now, I have built my own system. My Firefox has been way too busy hunting down things to learn about, new apps and other things. I no longer have to drag my computer down to the ghetto and pimp it out, to get a piece of illeagal software. All my software is open source, free and LEGAL. I used to think free was just a way to spy on you, pirated was better and open source had something to do with a flame. To sum up what gHacks has meant to me in my life in this last year… I am no longer limited by what my system can do. Now it is quite the other way around. My system is only limited by what I can do, and that grows every day because of gHacks. Even on Sunday. I cannot express how grateful I am for that.
Happy New Year Martin and everybody, best wishes for 2009
Manny happy returns to you Martin, Jack and everybody who contributed to ghacks. And main new year resolution is that i will keep on informing, my frinds about the quality that Ghacks brings. Best wishes for 2009
