Would have tried for these giveaways but by the time I could even find which one was being given away, it was already done. I still can’t find where the new software giveaway would be posted , the past, yes, but meh, I never have won a software contest in years so have my doubts about them anyway, it always seems to be… then other guy…, plus I would just once like to know it was actually “someone” not a spectre who won, and on that note, it’s still great to bring in traffic and a nice thing to do for people. So even a skeptic like me thinks it would be great to keep this idea going.

This was a great and unexpected idea Martin. Thanks a bunch man – I picked up Crossover Linux Pro! The selection of software was all over the map, which is a great thing for that selection to be. I honestly can’t think of any improvements to the giveaway – just keep it going next year!

Enjoyed the Christmas giveaway (even though I was never a winner), and always enjoy this blog. Very informative with interesting programs I’d never find on my own.

One suggestion for a future giveaway: allow readers to donate licenses to sw products they no longer want or use and throw them into the mix. I have an Avanquest AutoSave Essentials license that I won here on ghacks that I tried and never got along with (went with another solution instead) and so could legally (I think?) make that license available to another.

Thanks for all the fine effort you put into this blog; I look forward to browsing through 2009.

I suppose I would know if I got something. Nod32 was of course the main gift, the most wanted prize, and the most difficult to get.

I like the idea, but the chance to get something looks low, which makes it less interesting for the next time.

The idea of hardware giveaway is interesting but like it’s been mentioned not as easy and limiting it to (one) country would not be the best idea in my opinion, although many contests around the world are like that.
Stefan’s idea of services like web hosting is interesting as well, but in my opinion I would find it more interesting if giveaways don’t expire, I am not and won’t complain if they do expire but just saying it would be slightly less interesting if there are term limit giveaways.
But ultimately it comes down to what Dotan said, I have been coming here almost daily for a long time and will do so. Just have to post comments as often too, thanx Martin.

martin, i’ve been checking you pretty much since your start up, and you continue to be a not-to-be-missed daily read.

it’s been wonderful to see you grow as you have, continually improving and expanding. i hope 2009 brings more of the same for you.

a major accomplishment of yours this last year was your success in persuading me to turn off adblock here; no small feat, that!

as regards the giveaways, as others have suggested, it would be nice to know the protocol of winner selection.
