Garbanzo there are a few differences. This add-on can visualizing the hotkeys, that’s great if you can’t remember all the shortcuts you configured. It does also provide the means to load a website with just one shortcut.

While this is not totally different to the way you described it still removes the need to press enter :)

It is also easier to configure and maintain as all sites with hotkeys are displayed in a list. In the Bookmarking Manager you would have to find the site and edit it there.

On the downside: It is an add-on that is using its share of computer memory.

this is really not necessary. you can give any bookmark a keyword that you can type into the address bar of firefox and you are taken straight to the site.

for ghacks, i hit CTRL-L to move my cursor to the address bar, type GH, press ENTER, and i’m there. no add-on required.

and as LethAL suggests, you can do the same for search engines. right-click on a search box on any site and go to “add a keyword for this search”. google is g, wikipedia is w, imdb is i, etc…

Really useful. Firefox is so flexible because of ton of add-ons like this. However, I prefer speed dial of Opera.
