I agree with iampriteshdesai that Firefox is _not_ the place to be writing important text. That is what a test editor is for. However, if you _do_ need to write in a web browser, then write in Gmail’s Compose window. Gmail gives you the option of saving, and even performs automatic saves.

Start using Windows Live Writer.
Or else write those articles in Windows Office and later copy them in Fx.
