the best burning app i have ever used is ImgBurn. i have been using it regularly for maybe 6 months and have yet to have a single bad burn. it supports dozens of image formats, and does all the usual stuff too. lots of language options, full unicode support, and there is even a portable version!

Thanks for pointing this software out. I had heard of it before, but hadn't really given it a try - maybe I'll give it a shot now.

Personally, I use the open source InfraRecorder, both for my installed version and for a portable version.

It does everything cdrtfe does, plus it also supports bin/cue disc image formats (not just iso). It's definitely also worth checking out, especially the portable version, as there is no real commitment - if you don't like it, simply delete it.
