Yes Joshua – you are probably right that it depends what do you need the office products for – and still would you give me an example of what Microsoft office does that Open Office doesn`t ?

You guys are joking right? $60 is ridiculously cheap. I’m buying it now. $512 is also ridiculously pricey… however I have no problem with paying at a happy medium, if you cant accept that… then go read Karl Marx… HE had some great ideas and that sure worked out good.

There are no real free alternatives to MS Office. I’ve tried them all…

(Clarification: I guess that depends on how you use it)

if you are a university student, you should ask around, or look around on your faculty website (especially if you are doing CS).

I’ve gotten legit XP and office serials and iso’s from them, as well as software available on microsoft academic alliance.

Great offer and business move for Microsoft. When I get to college, I will definitely consider this, though I don’t know if they give it if you have a Mac.

To me the $59.95 seems like a high price – while $519.99 is just ridiculous. These days there are many alternatives of the Office provided by Microsoft . I am sure that they want to limit the piracy that way – but to efficiently do that they would have to get the price even lower ( let say 25 $ ).
