I covered the email provider Akapost about ten days ago and liked what it had to offer. It was not your usual Gmail / Yahoo Mail kind of provider but one that would put an end to email spam to your mail inbox. This was achieved by acting as a proxy between the user’s email account and the destinations.
The user would create an Akapost email account at their website and link it to one of his real email accounts. Whenever he wanted to signup on a site he would use the Akapost email account which would forward all incoming mails to his account.
Mails that he wanted to send could be send to Akapost first which would forward them to the email recipient. This effectively means that no sender or website is able to uncover the real email address of the user. Akapost featured a few additional options, just read my initial article if you are curious.
Free accounts can be created at Akapost which are good for one email link. I had a chat with the guys at Akapost and they told me that they would give me five free account upgrades to Akapost Plus which is good for 5 Akapost email addresses and 10 links.
The service usually costs $22.95 per year but five lucky Ghacks readers pay nothing to get it. You need to have an Akapost username. If you want to upgrade your account let me know in the comments. I pick five commenters in the coming days who will get the free upgrade. Regular commenters and visitors will be precedented.

Looks like a useful tool in the war against spam, would love to save $22.95 :)
Hi I would like an upgrade to the Akapost plus version please.
I also heard about Akapost from GHacks.
Matt
I guess I found out about akapost from ghacks too! I’d love to use the plus version. Pretty plz, thx!
Akapost is an awesome service, it’s such a simple concept, but so handy…A premium subscription would be even more handy…
Here’s hoping.
This is some pretty cool stuff!
I would love to apply for it
my username: andzuz
Maybe i’m simple but i’m not getting this.
How does this stop spam? It seems to me that the spam will be sent to Akapost then forwarded to you. Where’s the benefit?
What am I missing?
GH-AKAPOST :-)
why dont just use another google account? they can forward too, I can see no need to pay 22 dollar for a service forwarding my mail
I’m not sure there’s any point in trying to hide from spam these days. Any system that claims to inhibit spam will work only for so long. Not necessarily because the spammers will find workarounds but because they have so much computing power at their disposal to autogenerate email addresses. If they’re creating a million a day using an algo then it’s only a matter of time before any given address you create will be duplicated.
If I made it in time please consider and upgrade for my account noneck.
…well, so much for my bold confidence.
Archer I was not able to pick the five lucky ones yet, read my latest post to understand what I did the last three days ;)
Send me an email with your akapost username, you will obviously get one.
I can see the gazillion folks ahead of me, but if you receive other upgrade offers, please consider me?

Thanks so much
