This seems like a very cool tool, but I hesitate to put my website screenshots on other servers because if their server has problems my images won’t show.

The Windows version of the desktop app has a rather major bug right now where any screenshot you take using the app includes the white masking that should obscure anything outside of the screenshot area (I hope that made sense). They claim to be working on it, but that was also roughly a month ago when they acknowledged the issue. If they get it working this combination of desktop app and website could be handy (at least until Skitch releases a Windows version of their app).

Hey Tobey! Thanks for the write up. I’m interested in what kind of error you received while setting up ScrnShots Desktop (I’m assuming on a PC). If you have a free moment, email me and I can try to get it sorted. Also it would help us to make sure that the next release works perfectly.

Thx and see ya on ScrnShots!

Desktop uploader works fine for me, using version 0.7

Thanks for the replies.

@Daniel: You’re right about that, unavailability of a vital online service like this might cause some troubles. That’s unfortunately an issue related to all services like that. We shall hope they reckon their responsibility to their users and keep their servers up as much as possible or.. not use such services at all. Your choice :)

@xxdesmus: Thanks for the report of the fault, hope they solve it soon..

@Greg Bell: I’ll get in touch with you asap.

@dus: You seem to be a rather lucky person then :D
