Image 2 HTML

On trying to open the sample images, my avast! av alerts me of malware..

[...] has a piece of software that I found out about from gHacks.net called Image2Html. This basically is a program that converts a photo or batch converts many photos [...]

This program is crap, I installed it in Linux using wine and it worked but the images it produces are watermarked and unusable for anything. Unless of course you pay, that is the reason i hate windows software. Programmers wanna steal from you and think the world owes them money.

Vista Snipping Tool includes basic functionality, but I have never tried it.. maybe I should =P

In like dozen of years such software exists I don’t think anyone had ever come up with sane reason to use it. Classic “because it’s geek”.

It is fun that such a tool exist but its also pretty useless and I don’t see any money in this, unless the pictures become cristal clear, but that isn’t the case.

Why should you work for free? Even in the big open source projects involves big money. If not by donations and sponsors then by the service some companies give to B2B customers.

How do you feed your children if you work full time on open source projects and you reject earning money from it? pff think about it.

I find the most interesting thing the choice of sample images. Someone a big Avril fan?

For me, just trying to visit the Image 2 HTML site set off a warning from Avast’s web shield.

Pretty cool I liked the effect even if I have no idea if the software is any good. Sorry to hear they actually watermark the images though.

You should work for free because it is right thing to do. What little I do to support the Open source community is for free and I live in poverty you probably don’t understand.

As to how to feed your children there are plenty of weeds growing in the woods. And plenty of ways a person can live without lying and stealing for a living. Don’t laugh I feed my kids partially with weeds out of the woods and still feed myself partially that way.

As to how these programmers are to make money I will gladly give them a real job doing real work digging ditches and carry concrete block. Let them see what reality and work truly is.

Exactly how dare they sell information. maybe you don’t understand the history of western civilization but such a thing is in blatant violation of everything academic tradition has stood for since the days of Ancient Greece. And Stallman is right it is a crime against humanity.

Anyway my complaint about this program is disguising and presenting it as shareware when it adds watermarks to images and makes them unusable and then tries to extort money out of someone to remove the watermarks. This is in my mind unethical and the program itself is not worth anything as I could write the code for such a program myself if I so desired.

I am pretty sure slaves in Ancient Greece hadn’t quite thought of themselves as open source enthusiasts and upholders of academic tradition…

If you did great on school and had a lovely job behind a desk and made enough money to give your children the best, you wouldn’t say that.

Why not doing your best to get rich and then give people from what you have? Your standpoint is from another world than we live in. Work produces added value, and it doesn’t matter in which way to earn money from it. But I stop here because this is going to be an ugly discussion
