Why not doing your best to get rich and then give people from what you have? Your standpoint is from another world than we live in. Work produces added value, and it doesn’t matter in which way to earn money from it. But I stop here because this is going to be an ugly discussion

I am pretty sure slaves in Ancient Greece hadn’t quite thought of themselves as open source enthusiasts and upholders of academic tradition… :)

You should work for free because it is right thing to do. What little I do to support the Open source community is for free and I live in poverty you probably don’t understand.

As to how to feed your children there are plenty of weeds growing in the woods. And plenty of ways a person can live without lying and stealing for a living. Don’t laugh I feed my kids partially with weeds out of the woods and still feed myself partially that way.

As to how these programmers are to make money I will gladly give them a real job doing real work digging ditches and carry concrete block. Let them see what reality and work truly is.

Exactly how dare they sell information. maybe you don’t understand the history of western civilization but such a thing is in blatant violation of everything academic tradition has stood for since the days of Ancient Greece. And Stallman is right it is a crime against humanity.

Anyway my complaint about this program is disguising and presenting it as shareware when it adds watermarks to images and makes them unusable and then tries to extort money out of someone to remove the watermarks. This is in my mind unethical and the program itself is not worth anything as I could write the code for such a program myself if I so desired.

Why should you work for free? Even in the big open source projects involves big money. If not by donations and sponsors then by the service some companies give to B2B customers.

In like dozen of years such software exists I don’t think anyone had ever come up with sane reason to use it. Classic “because it’s geek”.
