Hi, I just downloaded the Firefox 3 a few days ago and in my opinion it is better than any browser or any of the previous Firefox browsers… So far I haven’t had any problems with the Firefox 3 and I really enjoy it!

or you could tweak Firefox’s about:config settings so that yubnub becomes your primary search engine from the addressbar, thereby allowing an absolutely unlimited number of search options as opposed to just one…see this lifehacker post for details:

firefox 3 is great..except for the fact that it uses more than twice of RAM it used in ff2. I tried safe mode with no add ons but got the same results. Does anybody face similar issues?

I won’t call them essential, except for the adblock.
searchery won’t highlight the words I’m searching, nor the inner search bar. And I still don’t see what’s the problem with javascript. why do you absolutely want to disable it?
for me, more essential are the downthemall, mouse gesture, download statusbar extensions, and of course the famous dom inspector, firebug and webdeveloper toolbar extensions that I need to earn my life.

VideoDownloadHelper is a good ad-in, particularly for Youtube. But it doesn’t work for video’s on ComedyCentral.com and the author does not reply to email messages asking about support for new sites.

I never thought about whitelisting sites that I enjoy with Adblock Plus. I think that I will adopt your policy of unblocking for sites I like (starting here).
