i like the old one more. guess its a matter of habit

A thing that attract my attention was that in the new theme under the “advertise here” picture there was a big empty place. I think somewhere until where you now see the “sponsor” title in the sidebar. I was wondering why nothing was there. Maybe an adsense tower ad was not displayed?

Martin says:

Rruben that was a different ad block, not related to Adsense. I installed the theme on a smaller site and will try to figure out what was going on there.

Old theme is better :P Orange hurts my eyes ;]

I prefer this “older” theme too.

Abhijeet from Jeet Blog says:

Martin, I am facing a similar situation. Since last 2 days my adsense impressions are 50% low. Infact the page impressions are 50% less then the pageviews shown in analytics stats, which definitely means something is wrong.

I am investigating the matter too. Although my wordpress doesn’t seem to be hacked but I am checking. I’d also like to tell ya that it may not be a problem with your theme. It could be adsense reporting problem or WP hacked.

Please do let us know when you’ve found a solution. Here’s a link which can help you in your investigation: http://ocaoimh.ie/2008/06/08/did-your-wordpress-site-get-hacked/

I prefer the old theme for what its worth - I must admit I dont see ANY ads in either.

I <3 Firefox :D

Tony says:

I join to the other pals above: I prefer this theme, too.

FWIW, now that I’ve used both old and new, I find the old easier on my eyes to read. I don’t think I’m biased by familiarity because I normally immediately embrace change when the new is an improvement for me over the old.

I don’t remember seeing *why* you wanted to make a change. Would you share that (again)?

Roger says:

old theme ftw

Doc says:

I can’t see any ads…I guess there’s something really wrong…

Martin says:

Bill I’m much like a woman who just wants to change her husband in a perfectly fine relationship because she “thinks” it will be even better in the end.

There is no reason :)

Mike says:

To be honest, I like this theme way better. The color scheme is memorable, and the text is much, much easier to read. I do most of my reading within NetNewsWire, but sometimes I visit the site (particularly when I need to find an old article, or when I want to comment on something).

If, in the end, you switch away from this theme, it would be really nice if you could move things around a bit. Maybe increase font sizes.

This is coming from a guy in his mid-twenties…so it’s not like my eyesight is going. :)
