I changed the theme today and what you can see right now is the new Ghacks theme. It smaller and more efficient than the old one using less images and other elements that slow down a website. Not everything is final as of now and if you encounter any problems let me know about them so that I can fix them.
It can be that the site will not be available for a while every now and then throughout the day because of the new theme. It takes a while to install everything the way I want it, hope you understand this.
I like to know what you think of the new theme. Better ? Worse ? Faster ? Slower ? Let me know please.

The site looks great… though to be honest, I hardly ever visit cuz I read your great posts through good ole Google Reader ;)
this looks cool dude.colour combination is awesome.But as far as my personal opinion is concerned i feel that font of post can be some what increased.
Your tabs,logo,colours every thing rocks.
Looks good, layout more meaningful – I complained about comments buttons not tied to actual posts and glad to see them improved.
Too much white space in upper-right.

Font is small, but that’s typical for modern internet which doesn’t care about people with bad eyesight… I read most of sites at 200% (or more) nowadays.
Kill your spam filter. Pretty please? :) As extra fan service you can do it in some very cruel way and post screenshots.
Martin, your site could look like nothing that it wouldn’t change our concern for your comments. I liked the now old outfit, but this one is lighter indeed, and orange is more eye-catching than blue, perhaps. The general impression is space, which makes the whole more attractive because not squeezed. As far as I’m concerned, I had to enlarge the text size though, a bit small, but my view is not excellent!
Overall : 9/10 (assumed perfection is flattery) ;)

I am pretty sure that there are better ways to deal with problem than teleporting comment into oblivion and leaving user really puzzled about it… For the sake of nervous systems of your actively commenting readership I hope you challenge this issue some time in the future. :)

I like the colors and the clean layout
To be honest, I don’t like it. The headings and tabs are too big and the colors, black and orange, don’t fit. The upper area should be smaller.
I really like it. Its a very nice design. Perfect the orange with gray. Very professional looking.
My only objection is that you change your design to much.
The color of your identity has always been blue. Now it becomes orange.
And also when you changed your design the previous time it was definitely an improvement, but I really had to get used to it and that had cost time and unconscious I came less frequent in that period.
Switching to much with design and logo probably cause confusion with the not regular visitors.
But because your logo is definitely a cool, handsome big improvement :-P I should take the new design and just tweak it further like you are probably doing now. And then leave it that way as long as possible.
EDIT: Oya one thing to ad. In the previous design I used your sidebar with the “latest articles” much. But now it is more moved down I will probably use it a lot less. It think that the pageviews increase if you leave it more above.
Fixed the pagenavi error. I was also thinking that the search part of the header was a bit misplaced there but it’s a unique position I think. I might consider moving it to the sidebar instead so that it would free up some header space.
Thanks rruben. I like the new color scheme and design a lot and was getting just a bit bored with the old theme. I probably will release this theme for free as well once I tweaked it here at Ghacks. And don’t worry, this theme will be there for.. well .. at least a year :P
Most of your readers love the new skin and to be honest, i’m happy with the result. I believe the loading time is good ( files are less than 76kb, including screenshot of theme and all graphics used ). All the best and please let me know if you need further revision. You made me pretty curious about how you made that logo? In photoshop or with a 3D program?
Because it looks to 3D-ish for photoshop, very well done. Of course it can be done in photoshop with a round mask on it or something like that, aber ich bin noch neugierig :-P .

I thing that it is also the meaning that it means nothing. Then your only association you can make is Ghacks itself. Now that is called branding!
Rruben I did not create the theme, just ordered it. Look above your comment to find out who designed it. Can definitely recommend Roger from Zinruss Studio. Fast work, not expensive and great communication.

Unfortunately I just bought another theme around a month ago, so I am a little to late for this. From revolutiontheme, but I have changed it so much that you can hardly see any similarities.

the logo does not fit in well. another complaint is that readers need to scroll down to see affiliated site (connected internet etc) . otherwise its really nice

I liked a lot the previous design.
I know that one can feel tired of constantly viewing the same colors during X years, but I liked the other design.
This one feels a little ‘cold’ to me.
It’s like a generic blog obtained with a web-creator-assistant.
Just my oppinion
Just some short test results:
- In IE6 the div#right jumps down
- In IE6 and IE7 the bottom border of the links in the div.wp-pagenavi is not visible

I like the new theme – it does seem faster, but I would like to see bounding boxes on each news item…there just seems to be a lot of white space there IMO.
Actually… boxes like the ones on these messages would be ideal!
No sorry I prefer the old one, it was easier to read with the black.
