Firefox 3 Release Candidate 2 has been uploaded to the official Mozilla ftp site and is currently transferred to all mirror sites before the announcement is made on the official Mozilla Firefox 3 website that a new version is available.
As usual information is rather scarce before the official release notes have been posted at the official website (which they have not until now). The release however is definitely the final version of Firefox 3 Release Candidate 2 and early adopters can download and install it immediately without fearing that they are installing a version that is not final.
I will update this article later on with links to the release notes once they have been published by the Mozilla Firefox team.

I hope it doesn’t break some of my addons again XD I will wait until official release
Good news then. We have a new Firefox release candidate to evaluate. But why they don’t announce it on their homepage?
So this is really the final? If you go up a directory higher you can also find the same in another language. So for me in dutch. Thank you very much for the info.
Now I am definitly one of the first FF3 nl version downloader hehe (or not? :-P )
Export you bookmarks first, because my bookmarks and feeds in subdirectories are gone after installing. I think it takes the bookmarks from the former FF3 betas I had installed before. And not the updated bookmarks I had in FF2
So you are aware of it.
Firefox 2 bookmarks should still be accessible through the file bookmarks.html in the Firefox 2 profile directory
Ouch. It stopped ForecastFox working & seems to be processing links one by one instead of in parallel. Think I’ll revert to RC1 for a while.
:O really? Another mozbackup then. Anyone know what’s improved on this one?
Typo Martin its release candidate 2 not 3 ;)
I installed firefox 2 again, because of the bookmarks. I exported the bookmarks. But because of some plugins which are not yet compatible I will wait for a moment until the next release.
Did it list the current version as Firefox 3.0 RC1 in the ‘About’ before? Noticed it only says Firefox 3.0 now I have upgraded to RC2.
