What about a fix for duo core chips? This is not just an AMD chip issue. It is happening to my new duo core chip system as well. It won;t shut down, just keeps rebooting. I have to press and hold the power button to force it to power off.

FREAGGIN MICROSUCK!

I have and AMD Duron cpu. Strange enough,

1- I did not encounter Restart bug after installing XP SP3 ;
2- I do have the "C: Windows System32 Drivers intelppm.sys" file ;
3- I do not have whatever occurrence of intelppm in my Registry, but I do have a "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM ControlSet001 Services Intelide" key (Intelide, not Intelppm), with no subkey, which is as far as I know the feature of disabled services ...

Mystery, mystery ...
