Cheryl, thanks for checking out Simplify Media! We really appreciate your in-depth review. Two quick clarifications.

First, you don’t have to have iTunes (or Winamp) running on your home computer to enjoy files remotely. You don’t even have to have it installed. iTunes (or Winamp - or an iPhone) is required for playback, though. Sorry for the confusion.

Second, we now have a Linux version too. It works with your Linux server, and with Rythmbox or Banshee on Ubuntu 7.

So I do NOT have to run (or even install)
iTunes or WinAmp to “enjoy” files… but I
DO have to have them installed/running to
“play” music?

What’s the difference between “I can ENJOY them” but “I can’t PLAY them”?
