If you perform a search at Yahoo you will notice that the links to the websites are redirects from a Yahoo server starting with rds.yahoo.com. This is quite confusing especially if you want to take a quick look at the url of the destination website. This also means that the loading time of those websites increases slightly because of the redirect. It has happened in the past that the redirects were slowing down the loading time tremendously because of a server problem at Yahoo.
This can be quite frustrating especially if you use Yahoo regularly to search the Internet. A small Greasemonkey script comes to the rescue, at least to the rescue of Firefox users. The Yahoo! Redirect Remover script removes the redirects from the search results including Yahoo video search and virtually every other Yahoo.com page that is using those kind of redirects.
The script obviously requires Greasemonkey to be installed before the Yahoo! Redirect Remover script itself can be installed and used.
Yahoo Images are actually redirected twice it seems. Another Greasemonkey script takes care of the second redirect. Install the Yahoo Image Relinker script for Greasemonkey if you want to see the direct links to the images instead of the second Yahoo redirect.

If you use Internet Explore, you can install IE7 Pro, from IE7Pro.com, which give you an adblocker and Greasemonkey support, so you can add a Greasemonkey script to Internet Explorer. No need to use firefox, because of Greasemonkey.

If problem still persists, check all your applications that list a “homepage”.. such as SPYWARE BLASTER, ETC. That application will have a “homepage” listing as well as a “search page” listing.. you will see the “search page” has been changed.. (more than likely to something like http://rds…. [a redirect service website] .. change it to same as your homepage (or whatever else you desire).
