I used to use What Would Seth Godin Do plugin from http://www.richardkmiller.com/blog/wordpress-plugin-what-would-seth-godin-do.. So i can set if the readers read 4 article in three day then do not show ads… But because it use cookies so it sometimes load pages too long .. It drops my adsense income too .. So i never used it again ..

Hi Martin,
I think you’re restricting too much the ads.
I’m a Ghacks-a-holic (between 1 visit/2 days up to 2 times per day), and I don’t mind seeing some advertisements in your page.
You can disable in some amount, but not so much.
Thanks for your site, I love the way you write your articles, as much as their contents (a lot!).
Tony.

You might as well leave the ads. I know how to appreciate the hard work that writers do. That means to click on the ads that interest me. So long as the site is not crawling in advertisements, some ads are fine.

But please get rid of the text popup ads. I had avoided adblock plus until I started reading this site. I had to install adblock plus because everytime I moved the mouse across the screen four of five popups would drive me nuts.

Having adsense ads on your website is not something that is disturbing in my opinion. And because I appreciate your work I am of course also more willing to click on an ad when it interest me, although I normally avoid ads. So just leave them there, otherwise you miss my clicks ones in a while.

I also agree with the text popups. They are irritating me and I have never clicked on such an ad. Not here and not anywhere els. IMO it is a failed sort of advertisment, so I would appreciate it if you replace that with something else.

Maybe you can try more 125px by 125px affiliate ads. These ads interest me much more. Also because in many cases they are better targeted because you will chose them self.

For example I bought the revolution theme for wordpress two weeks ago. I got to know that theme because of such an affiliate ad and I am glad this ad was displayed on that website, because otherwise I would have to do all that work for getting a proffesional theme myself.

Those text popup ads are Intellitxt ads and I cannot remove them unfortunately. If you do not want to see them I suggest you install Adblock Plus. There was another fix and I think I posted about it before but I cannot remember it correctly.

I will test the ads off for regular visitors for a day or two and make a decision afterwards.

As a blogger, I’m interested in knowing if my readers actually mind those ads. As a regular blog reader, some blogs are downright annoying because they will have more advertising content than anything else.

As a GHacks reader, however, I have absolutely no complaints. Not only are the ads on GHacks few, but rarely intrusive. Besides, on more than a few occasions, I have clicked on them because I found them worh my time.
