I've been using www.spamex.com (also can reverse spell as xemaps.com). Cost is $10/year for up to 500 email addresses at any one time. I have a toolbar button setup and can create a new address with 2-3 clicks (depending on if I am logged on or not). You can reply to an email received through spamex and it will scrub header email tracks, so no one knows where you replied from. I couldn't live without this service. It's proven very reliable and is rarely down.

You can also have multiple gmail addresses. I have 2 right now. Just signout when done and you will be presented with the sign-on screen.

Then there is www.inbox.com, www.mail.com and a whole slew of others.

I use temporary inbox. It's a toolbar for firefox that lets you generate an email address (through the right click menu or from the toolbar) and then it saves the name of the email address. That way you can just hit the "check" button and it automatically logs you in to the site to check your email. After 6 hours it disposes of all the emails that you recieved in there.

@Tobey I'm not sure if that's something to be proud of ;)

Spam Gourmet is another one similar to gish - www.spamgourmet.com

I like it because you can put an upper limit on the number of emails you can receive via the created address, after which, it's just a dead address.

And don't forget bugmenot as an alternative when trying to log into a site you'll probably never use again.

I simply use my old mail account, which eventually became spam & crap account for temporary registrations and stuff. I bet you don't have an account with over a thousand mails at least third of which is spam... :D
