Good one. I’d hit up ZiPhone somewhere else (not Lifehacker), and the tut on LH fixes the deal. Is it just me or are Mac hacks getting easier as Mac adoptions rise? :D

I don’t have an Iphone or touch but I have hacked my psp as it is so much more versatile afterwards compared to its normal state. If sony would just open it up free of locks straight out of the box I think that it would be much more highly valued by both consumers and developers alike.

i jailbreak my iphone since 1.1.09, which make me wonder if this ziphone app unlock it for use with any other provider like anysim or just jailbreak it to run homebrew. I have a hard time leaving ibrickr too.
I do not intend to upgrade for i dont see the need to. I didn’t even try to revirginize yet to upgrade.
as for psp, the hardest task was to make a pandora battery without a gui, and even so it is not as hard as jailbreaking a iphone and ipod touch with gui. Just a heads up i guess.

I had tried to hack my touch before, but I had issues with my Java version and I just gave up.

I used Ziphone for three main reasons, which are all simple and shouldn’t be issues out of the box.

1. There is a bug that forces me to disconnect my internet connection every time I plug in my ipod touch to sync.

2. I want show notes on my podcasts

3. I want a background on the home screen

Hacking the ipod only resolved the last issue. I can only get show notes if the podcaster places them in the lyrics section of the file.

I wish there was a tweak application that would modify the logic that shows lyrics and change it to show notes instead.

Hmm an interesting read for sure! Sadly dont have either. Wonder how hacking the PSP helps? What apps are there for the PSP warrants some research!
