Opera 9.26 out

A new version of Opera has been released just a few hours ago. This release fixes several security and stability issues and it is a recommended upgrade for all users. Please note that opera 9.26 is the latest final build of Opera since Opera 9.5 is still a beta. Do not download this version if you are already using Opera 9.5.

The three security vulnerabilities are mentioned in the changelog, one fixes a issue where simulated text inputs could trick users into uploading arbitrary files, one makes it impossible for image properties to execute scripts and the last fixes a issue where the representation of DOM attribute values could allow cross site scripting.

Make sure you head over to Opera immediately and download the latest version.

In 9.26 menu and search options file format changed. So my custom search options was overwritten, and I have to restore it now.
    It’s not a big blow, but uncomfortable…

  2. Daniel Goldman says:

Roman, are you sure you installed the Opera 9.26 update over 9.2x? We didn’t change anything (AFAIK) related to the custom searches.

Roman, are you sure you installed the Opera 9.26 update over 9.2x?

    Yeah! I’m using 9.2X for a while.

Something went wrong and my search.ini was replaced by empty file. standard_menu.ini too. I restored them from uninst/backup folder, and now custom searches and menu items are back.

Thanks for your care and directions!

  4. Roman ShaRP says:

Correction: standard_menu.ini was replaced by default file (without some added later items).

  5. Daniel Goldman says:

Hmm.. I wonder why that happened.

  8. Roman ShaRP says:

According to install backups and AFAIR – 9.24.8816 (bulid number written in English.lng file). It was overwritten by o926s_8833.exe .
