I’m using the Usenet (Newsgroups) provider Giganews for several years already and recommend the service to anyone who wants to sneak peak or go knee deep into Usenet. I don’t want to talk about the performance of their servers, the reliability and file retention which sets a very high Industry standard that all the other Usenet Providers have a hard time keeping pace with.
Giganews is one of the few providers who actually provide more than just access to the Usenet. They create useful software like the Giganews Accelerator which increases the speed of the header downloads immensely.
They have created several pages called the Giganews University this time which explains the Usenet to users who are new to this concept. Text and Video are used to explain the various concepts and basics of the Usenet including an explanation about the Usenet, what a user needs to access it and how to use it.
A total of eight videos have been published at the Giganews University, here is the first video entitled Usenet Basics:
As you can see their look professional and explain the concepts in basic terms. Giganews is offering a three day trial for new customers that is good for downloading ten Gigabytes from the Usenet. If you are satisfied your trial account will be changed in the regular account that you have selected during signup.

Usenet Provider Giganews Reaches 400 Days Of Data Retention
Shhhhh…. dont tell everyone about usenet.
Well, since you are hear and loud mouth has already blabed about it you might as well know what the REAL/BEST usenet provider is:
EASYNEWS (http://www.easynews.com)
they are great and are the only usenet provider I know of that has a web interface for searching/download binaries from usenet. They have a GLOBAL search form that lets you search across all groups at once They have online par viewers. They have auto-unrar tools. They have zip queue managers they let you bundle tons of files you want into one zip file that you can download over the web using a download manager, etc… yada yada yada
easynews rules… no messy news reader programs and no “headers” to download… END OF STORY!
Well I did use Easynews about 8 years ago or so and their interface was really nice to download missing parts. I always thought that their service was rather expensive, I think there was a six Gigabyte limit back then for $10 or so ?
They are a quality provider that’s for sure but I prefer Giganews.
Oh, and everyone who cares already heard about Usenet so no need to shut our mouths and pretend it does not exist.
